What is a reconditioned hybrid battery?
A reconditioned battery uses evaluated and reconditioned modules in an inspected battery assembly. It is not a new battery. Each pack is capacity tested, load tested, matched, and balanced before sale.
How are the batteries tested?
Modules are reconditioned to a minimum capacity of 4,500 mAh, capacity tested, load tested, matched, and balanced. Battery components are inspected and replaced when necessary. Reconditioned packs use OEM Toyota modules.
Which vehicles do you service?
We specialize in Gen 2 and Gen 3 Toyota Prius, Lexus CT200h, 2007–2017 Toyota Camry Hybrid, and Toyota Prius c. Camry installation is shop only. Prius c rebuilds are Houston only and performed by the owner.
What does installation cost?
Prius/CT200h installation is $100 at the Houston shop or $150 for mobile service. Camry installation is $100 at the shop. Prius c labor is $100 at the shop or $200 for Houston mobile service, in addition to the $500 module price.
What is the core charge?
The core charge is $250 for Gen 2 Prius and $350 for Gen 3 Prius/CT200h; Camry is $350. Exchange the old battery at purchase/replacement to avoid it. Core charges are non-refundable, including when a core is returned later.
Does “Check Hybrid System” mean I need a battery?
Not necessarily. Other vehicle faults can cause that warning. We scan every vehicle before installation. Shop scans are free. For mobile service, obtain a parts-store scan when possible and enter the codes when booking, or select “I was unable to obtain a diagnostic scan.” If the HV battery is not the problem, a $50 mobile diagnostic/travel fee applies.
Where is mobile service available?
Houston eligibility depends on your service address and available installers within 40 miles of their assigned service ZIPs, including 77091, 77379, and 77082. Austin coverage is within 30 miles of 78750. Coverage is confirmed during scheduling, not by city name alone.
Can I install the battery myself?
Yes. Pay the base battery price without installation. Houston purchases are picked up by appointment at 1729 Don Alejandro, Houston, TX 77091. Austin delivery is $75 within the service area. Exchange the core at pickup/delivery to avoid the non-refundable core charge. Self-installation errors are excluded from warranty coverage.
How does the Prius c rebuild work?
The owner rebuilds your existing chassis with reconditioned modules. Standard totals before tax are $600 at the shop and $700 for Houston mobile service. A replacement battery computer, if required, is $75 extra. There is no core charge and Houston HyBatt retains removed modules.
What warranty is included?
A 2-year, unlimited-mileage warranty for the original purchaser. Shop claims have a $75 deductible and mobile claims a $150 deductible. Warranty work does not extend the original expiration. See the Warranty page for exclusions and complete terms.
How do I start a warranty claim?
Call or text 832-779-6378 with a diagnostic scan showing an HV/hybrid battery fault. Houston HyBatt, parts-store, and repair-shop scans are accepted. There is no public online claim form.
When do I pay?
Pay after service, pickup, or delivery using Zelle or cash. No payment is collected during online booking. Battery sales are final; covered failures are handled through warranty service.
What if my battery is unavailable?
Join the waitlist for your battery type and territory. Offers go in order to one customer at a time, with 24 hours to schedule. You may then choose an available appointment within the next three weeks. Declined or expired offers are removed from the queue.
